Description
We are looking for a Lead Content Writer/Editor who views a new Blank Slate financial services website opportunity the way a racecar driver views open roads! You know how to jump in, get grounded in the vision and material, gain empathy and create a voice that resonates with our target audience while generating high conversion rates. What You’ll Be Doing
To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully.
- Proficient in English expertise in copywriting and copyediting for style, grammar, accuracy, formatting, jargon, spelling and punctuation
- Fluency in French is preferred but not required
- Attentive to detail and experience writing and editing engaging and useful web and social content product/service/business
- Develop external communication pieces and messaging to elevate awareness, drive consideration and ultimately increase brand preference, encouraging internal and external loyalty
- Demonstrated experience writing material with high conversion rates
- Support executive, marketing and sales teams by keeping collateral up to date and on brand
- Support social media with content as needed.
- Anticipate needs, make recommendations, and assist with the organization’s messaging needs.
- Develop and maintain website content, clarity and brand focus.
- Write and edit online and print advertising, product launches for internal and external audiences, branding and event planning.
- Increase customer satisfaction through the development and implementation of attention-getting, simple, clear and helpful communication.
- Partner with various subject matter experts internal and external to create compelling, consistent, and meaningful messaging/content that helps achieve stakeholder goals for target audiences.
- Work with Compliance team to ensure regulatory and legal compliance in all messaging
- Understand the needs, motivations and aspirations of target audiences to create effective marketing communications.
- Write and edit all content with best SEO practices in mind
- Assist with managing vendor content development, approval and placement, specifically with our translation service partner
- Track and post work updates and finished work in ClickUp
Who You Are
The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Experience
- 5 years of experience in a corporate communications, public relations, or online editorial/content writing environment; experience working in fast-paced creative/professional environment
- Fluent in English
- French preferred but not required
- Experience in a financial services setting is preferred
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, or other relevant field. OR three additional years combined with experience years in a progressive marketing setting.
Computer/Office Equipment Skills
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- And the Google suite
Language Skills
- Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results and recommendations verbally, in writing and through insightful reports.
- Demonstrated ability to document outcomes and present information in a manner appropriate for key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to express concepts in different ways, i.e. there is more than one way to say something.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to lead and collaborate with an agency and ad hoc teams
- Understanding of communication marketing principles and organizational, business and managerial practices
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with strong organizing and time management skills and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and timelines
- Adaptive to change, responds positively to altered circumstances or conditions
- Possess a desire and willingness to learn and continually update knowledge base on financial concepts, strategies, systems etc.
- Take initiative to be a problem solver and provide suggestions to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Data analytics and data validation skills and proficiency in business data analysis (MS Excel, etc.) and web analytics (Google, etc.)
