Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Vice President of Finance to join our disruptive fintech start-up. As the VP of Finance, you will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for driving the financial strategy, planning, and execution to support our ambitious growth objectives. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's financial health and success as we revolutionize the financial industry.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with the overall business objectives, driving sustainable and scalable growth.
- Financial Forecasting and Budgeting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate financial projections to guide strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
- Financial Modeling and Analysis: Develop comprehensive financial models and conduct in-depth analysis to assess financial performance, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks.
- Fundraising and Investor Relations: Oversee fundraising efforts, maintaining strong relationships with existing investors and attracting new investment to fuel the company's growth.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, to the executive team and board of directors.
- Risk Management: Implement robust risk management strategies to safeguard the company's financial assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Treasury and Cash Management: Optimize cash flow management, capital allocation, and investment strategies to support the company's financial stability and growth.
- Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting principles, and reporting standards relevant to the fintech industry.
- Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Lead financial due diligence and evaluation for potential M&A opportunities, driving successful integration of acquired entities.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience (X+ years) in financial leadership roles, ideally within the fintech industry or disruptive financial services sector.
- Proven track record of driving financial growth and success, with a deep understanding of financial markets and trends.
- Experience in scaling finance functions and systems to support rapid company growth.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising and investor relations, securing venture capital funding and building strong relationships with investors.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices within the fintech space.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Exceptional leadership abilities, inspiring and motivating the finance team to achieve exceptional results.
